This course introduces students to the dynamic relationship between politics and economics in the contemporary world. It examines how political institutions, public policies, global markets, and international organizations influence economic development, governance, and social welfare. The course explores major themes such as globalization, neoliberalism, capitalism, inequality, development, welfare state, international trade, and the political economy of emerging powers.

Special emphasis is placed on understanding contemporary global challenges including economic crises, poverty, unemployment, climate change, technological transformation, and shifting global power structures. The course also analyzes the role of states, multinational corporations, and international institutions in shaping economic policies at national and global levels.

Through theoretical discussions, case studies, and critical analysis, students will develop the ability to connect political processes with economic outcomes and evaluate contemporary policy debates from a political economy perspective. The course aims to strengthen analytical thinking and provide students with a deeper understanding of the changing nature of the global political and economic order.

This Course explores the emergence and development of IndianĀ  nationalism during the colonial and post colonial periods.It examines major political movements,social and religious reforms,anti-colonial struggles,and the contributions of key thinkers and leaders in shaping the idea of India.The course also analyses different perspectives on nationalism and contemporary debates related to identity, secularism, unity, and nation-buliding in India.
